ENTROPY (2013)
Entropy was Askew One’s first international solo exhibition, presented at Detroit’s Inner State Gallery in August 2013. In this new body of work, Askew further refined his signature approach to portraiture, using the portrait as a conceptual device to explore broader ideas about energy, formation, fragility, and transformation. At the core of the exhibition is a meditation on entropy, the physical and metaphorical tendency of systems toward disorder and how this condition relates to human experience, society, and the environment.
